The transition to a new decade has shown the imminent need to implement social and sustainable solutions to improve people’s lives. In 2020 the world has been profoundly changed by the current COVID-19 crisis. The severe disruption to services caused by the crisis has led most EU Member States to adopt measures designed to address this impact on the Personal and Household Services, including both declared and undeclared services.
As its primary objective, the Ad-PHS project has created a platform as a single point of contact to support, guide, and provide advice to Public Authorities and stakeholders across Europe to develop their PHS policies. But also, now, while it is too early to assess the long-term impact of public measures, it is nevertheless pertinent to identify, catalogue, and analyze experts’ views on the immediate impact on the sectors.
For this reason, The Ad-PHS project is currently circulating a survey available in nine languages designed to better comprehend the situation experienced by stakeholders involved in Personal and Household services at national and local levels in the many Member States. Filling in this questionnaire is an opportunity to report on the situation, thereby improving our knowledge of the crisis’s effects and informing the policy response at the EU and national levels.

Concurrently, the project partners are organizing events in the key EU Member States to foster dialogue and gather information as well as publishing several reports on the situation of PHS sectors and general trends observed throughout Europe. Additionally, sets of guidelines are being produced to facilitate the development of PHS by public authorities and other stakeholders, in fields such as social dialogue, online platforms, cooperatives, or social vouchers.
All in all, it is a must to strengthen collaborative initiatives to support COVID-19 pandemic recovery and achieve well-defined livable purposes. Ad-PHS project partners trust the survey methodology to better comprehend the situation experienced by stakeholders involved in Personal and Household Services at national and local levels in the Member States.
