Diesis Network is one of the widest networks supporting the development of the social economy, social entrepreneurship, alternative business models and social innovation.

Diesis is a pioneer in investigating the intersection between the social economy business model and the ongoing digital revolution through research, articles and papers, implementing projects or mainstreaming innovative examples, organising peer learning and capacity building of practitioners.

Since several years Diesis has been working on the concept of Digital Social Economy, blockchain, DLT, DAOs and cooperative platform implementing different kind of activities, such us:

  • research project on the impact of the digital transition on the labour market and the solutions proposed by the social economy organisations in various countries (i.e. SEEDING research project);
  • annual event Diesis Digital Day, a set of various workshops on the digital transition involving stakeholders from the sector;coordination of the consortium that assisted DG GROW in the preparation of the Transition Pathway for the Proximity & Social Economy ecosystem;
  • implementation of several initiatives targeting digital skills (the Blueprint baSE project, the new Horizon Europe SETS project);
  • membership in the first European Digital Innovation Hub based on Social Economy which is going to start its activities to support the digitalisation of SMEs in the sector in connection with Public Authorities in three Italian regions;
  • participation in two new SMP initiatives boosting the digital transition for social economy SMEs and their support organisations.

To keep developing this growing area of work, we are now seeking a dynamic and talented expert and project coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to contribute to our organisation’s growth and enhance our visibility in the fields of social and solidarity economy and sustainability.

Role overview

The Consultant will have the role of expert and project coordinator, and will be responsible for developing contents, working on various EU funded projects and establishing good working relations with partners and stakeholders.

She/he will engage with our network members, international partners, and global audiences through creative and impactful initiatives ensuring the deliver the outcomes with the maximum possible impact for the organisation. She/he will be equally responsible for the implementation, communication, and administration of these projects.

Duties and responsibilities

Project Leadership:

  • Lead the overall implementation of the European-funded project, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Provide strategic direction and vision to the project team, including project partners, fostering a collaborative and impact-driven work environment.
  • Oversee the development and execution of project plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.

Team Management:

  • Day-to-day management of EU funded projects, including among others the following tasks: Technical and financial reporting, coordination of activities within project tasks, contribution to project management and projects acquisition;
  • Identify strengths and provide valuable inputs and contributions to reports and documents, also promoting peer review mechanisms within members and key stakeholders;
  • Prepare project deliverables related to communication, dissemination and outreach and corporate communication reports, including visual identity, newsletters, organisation of events, website maintenance, and awareness-raising campaigns.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of partners, including research and expert organisations, NGOs, city networks and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Coordinate and facilitate effective communication between project partners to ensure seamless collaboration and information flow;
  • Represent the project at relevant events, conferences, and meetings, enhancing its visibility and impact.

Contents Development:

  • Conduct thorough research on relevant topics, trends, and relevant news around social economy in digital realm, gathering data from credible sources;
  • Analyse and synthesize complex information into clear and engaging content;
  • Write compelling articles, scripts, brochures, newsletters, ads, and other written materials;
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and refine content concepts.

Grant Development

  • Finding new initiatives and opportunities for project development;
  • Writing tender proposals and project applications;

Requirements

  • Qualified master’s degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience in the management of international and/or EU funded project;
  • Familiarity with Social Economy Action Plan and Transition Pathway policy development and implementation, evaluation of technical and policy measures, cost-benefit analysis, data collection, validation and analysis;
  • Languages: fluent in English (native speaker or equivalent), any other language are valuable assets.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, shift between task and keep oversight on priorities.
  • Creative thinker with the confidence to propose new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.

What we offer:

We offer one year service contract (80 days to be discussed based on the specific assignments), renewable on the base of the activities.

The estimated fee for this position is 3,000 EUR/Month all taxes included. The consultancy will be fully remote, however some travels might be required. All work-related travel will be covered by Diesis Network. Payment methods will be agreed upon with the consultant, based on deliverables. Convening organizations will provide supervision and general support in specific activities and reviewing and providing feedback on deliverables.
