Recently representatives from Diesis Network (Francisco and Giulia) travelled to Colombia to advance the Green Pymes project.

Alongside italian partners from Confindustria SFC, Enzo Faloci and Ivana, they spent an engaging week visiting local entrepreneurs in Bucaramanga and Manizales. The objective was to promote sustainable business practices and foster cooperation between Colombian and European networks.

During the visits, Diesis Network emphasized the increasing global significance of the social economy, showcasing how it drives fairer greener business models. Successful examples of financially viable social enterprises have been shared, highlighting best practices that can inspire local ventures.

Among the notable businesses visited were Parque de la Fruta, which conserves over 100 species of fruit trees, and Ecoloma, an innovative company recycling over 200,000 plastic bottles annually to produce cleaning products in collaboration with the local community.

Colombian and Honduran entrepreneurs expressed strong interest in expanding into European markets and forming strategic partnerships, with sectors mainly focused on social tourism, agri-food, textiles, natural cosmetics, waste management, and the circular economy.

Confindustria SFC also provided insights into gathering trade data between Latin American and European countries through the EC website, offering valuable tools for businesses looking to expand internationally.

The team visited the Chambers of Commerce in Manizales and Bucaramanga, both of which played a great work supporting their entrepreneurs in spotting and promoting their green activities.

We want to thank them for all their efforts.

They also announced the requirements to local enterprises to participate in the GREEN PYMES ALLIANCE Sustainability and Circular Economy Award, further encouraging innovation in green and circular economy practices.
