Social Firms Scotland

Social Firms Scotland (SFS) is the national support agency for Social Firms and operates as part of the

wider eco-system of support for social enterprise in Scotland. Its work focuses on supporting Social Firms

and Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs) to maximise their contribution to employment for

people who face significant barriers to work - in particular, people with a disability, mental health issue,

substance misuse, a prison record, homeless issue and young people.

As a membership organisation established in 2000, it has a delivery role to support our members, a

policy role to represent them and a leadership role to champion what they do. Aligned to supporting its

core membership of over 200 organisations, SFS facilitates a national Employability Social Enterprise

Network (SEN), engaging 155 frontline work integration social enterprises.

It works closely with Senscot and its partners in a new Partnership for Procurement Centre of Excellence

to ensure social and community enterprises have the practical support they require to access public

procurement contracts.
